Rogaine, as developed by Upjohn, is an anti Hairfall therapy that has been around many years. It has been known that Rogaine works good for men, but does rogaine work women equally well? There is a two part answer to it, yes and no. No in the sense that Rogaine contains minoxidil, which was developed in order to counter male hair loss, by stopping DHT from taking its toll on the hair follicles. Since DHT is primarily related to male sex hormones and minoxidil acts over DHT, original Rogaine was almost ineffective against female Hairfall, as it totally depended upon separate hormones. However, the company soon realized this problem and not only altered the composition of minoxidil to suit the female hormones but also reduced its strength so that it was mild on the female scalp. So we can yes, Rogaine now works on female Hairfall equally well, as it has now been modified to combat the problem of hair thinning and falling in women.
